This is a part-time position, working an average of 25 hours per week, 15:00 – 20:00, over 5 days, on a shift basis (including early starts, late finishes, and weekends). You must be able to arrange your own transport to ensure timely arrival for early and late shifts. Lone working is a part of this role. You will be required to successfully pass a medical, as all offers are subject to passing a safety critical medical. This role includes a compulsory 5-day Dispatch training course at our Stratford Academy, followed by a final assessment. Candidates will be subject to a Right to Work check & DBS check for this position. You must be 18 years of age or older to apply for this position.
Salary: This role offers structured pay progression based on length of service: starting £25,051 - £29,429 (after 2 years of service). The actual salary you receive will be pro-rated, based on your part-time hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service by meeting and greeting customers, selling tickets, and answering inquiries with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Assist customers in using ticket machines and educate them on new ticketing technologies such as smart cards and mobile apps.
- Oversee day-to-day platform operations, ensuring smooth travel for all customers, including supporting mobility-impaired individuals.
- Offer support during disruptions by assisting customers and maintaining effective communication with Drivers and Conductors.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by reporting faults and hazards, maintaining a clean and tidy station, and occasionally working alone.
- Assisting passengers with additional needs, providing proactive assistance to customers on and off trains, offering guidance and reassurance to help them travel confidently.
- Comply with safety regulations, reporting faults and hazards as necessary, as you will be responsible for the safe and punctual dispatch of trains.
- Collaborate with Drivers and Conductors to ensure smooth communication and service.
