Great Yellow is connecting nature and finance, enabling nature restoration projects to grow effectively with long-term capital support. The world is experiencing rapid environmental degradation as a result of an extractive economic model, making life and natural resources vulnerable as nature declines. Businesses depend on natural resources and are equally exposed and vulnerable as nature declines.
Great Yellow is seeking a NatCap Sales Associate (Carbon & Water) to lead the sales of carbon & water units from our nature restoration projects. This is a high-impact commercial role within our Trade team, initially focused on the UK but with a mandate to expand globally as markets evolve.
The ideal candidate will have significant sales experience, a proven ability to close complex, high-value deals, and a strong personal network within the infrastructure, utility and real estate development industries amongst C-level and sustainability leaders. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and converting buyers of BNG units, helping to scale investment into biodiversity and ecosystem restoration. This role will work closely with our Capital, Trading, and Advisory teams to ensure that carbon units meet market demand and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Unit Sales & Market Development
- Lead the sales of Carbon & Water units from Great Yellow’s UK-based nature restoration projects.
- Develop and execute a go-to-market sales strategy to secure large-scale buyers, including corporates, developers, financial institutions, and sustainability-driven entities.
- Build a qualified pipeline of prospects and manage deal progression from lead generation through to close, in conjunction with the Advisory team leads.
- Deliver on sales targets while maintaining integrity, transparency, and alignment with ecological goals.
- Client Relationship Management
- Leverage your existing network to build trusted relationships with carbon & water buyers.
- Educate potential buyers on the value of Great Yellow’s carbon & water units and our commitment to high-quality, long-term impact.
- Develop long-term partnerships that go beyond one-off transactions, including framework agreements and portfolio deals.
- Develop secondary trading of units in the UK.
- Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work with the wider Great Yellow team to develop and implement an internal standard for carbon and water supply, pricing benchmarking and inventory tracking for carbon & water units.
- Work with the Capital and Trading teams, as well as valuation analysts to ensure units are structured and priced in line with market expectations.
- Provide market feedback to the Advisory, NAC and Capital teams to inform nature restoration project design, units packaging, supply integrity and certification processes.
- Help shape the overall credit sales strategy for nature credits as Great Yellow expands.
- Market Intelligence & Expansion
- Stay informed and communicate internally on UK regulatory frameworks surrounding water and carbon.
- Represent Great Yellow at industry events, investor forums, and policy roundtables.
- Previous experience in B2B sales, capital markets, or sustainable finance, with a strong track record of nurturing relationships and closing deals.
- 1+ years of carbon & water units sales experience.
- Pre-existing relationships with buyers of carbon & water units.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
- Commercial acumen and a results-driven mindset, with a passion for nature restoration and impact.
- Ability to understand complex landscape scale nature restoration projects.
- Ability to operate autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team culture.
