This is an exciting opportunity to join the Customer Services Team where you will be providing excellent customer service to our customers through various access channels including face-to-face, telephone and online services. The main enquiries are dealing with housing benefits, council tax reduction and supporting customers with waste enquiries along with ordering brown bins. Working in collaboration with other teams to improve service delivery, improving customer experience whilst supporting our vulnerable customers. We embrace new technology to support the expansion of digital improvements. The candidates will require a DBS check for access to DWP & HRMC systems and for taking payments. Please note the vacancy is for 12 months on a fixed term contract. Interviews to be held: W/C 21st September 2026.
About You
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, and an ability to deal with our customers in a polite and professional manner. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a "can do" attitude and will be willing to go the extra mile. A flexible approach covering a wide range of services and to be able to resolve where possible customers enquiries at the first point of contact. Candidates must be numerate and literate and have an ability to provide high quality advice and guidance across a wide range of Council services. Experience of working in a demanding customer service environment is desirable.
