We are building a talent pool for future Resource Manager opportunities within our Swindon Integrated Control Centre (ICC). Known internally as Crew Delivery Manager, this is a pivotal operational role responsible for ensuring our train crew - drivers, guards and catering colleagues â are in the right place, at the right time across the entire GWR network.
Operating at the heart of our 24/7 railway, this is a fastâpaced and highly dynamic environment where no two shifts are the same. It is a highly demanding position that requires managing a wide range of responsibilities, including:
- Overseeing the resource desk
- Working closely with various teams locally and across the network
- Forward planning the train service
- Implementing emergency train plans
- Managing service disruption and recovery
- Supporting colleagues who may need additional assistance
A significant aspect of this role involves extensive administrative duties. You will handle various paperwork, update schedules, communicate with crew members, and utilise specialised computer packages unique to the railway industry, such as Trust, CrewPlan, and Integrale. The role is deskâbased, and once on shift, you will take control, managing crews within your designated area on our network. This requires a high level of organisation, precision and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Eligibility criteria include:
- Be naturally proactive with a good eye for detail.
- Knowledge of the GWR network.
- Ability to pass safety critical information to colleagues by phone.
- Computer literate ideally in Office 365 (training will be provided for railway specific applications).
- Professional, clear communication and interpersonal skills.
- Applicants must be able to commute to work independently in the event of train service disruptions. Living within 60 minutes of Swindon.
The team is based in Swindon in the Network Rail Integrated Control Centre. This is an officeâbased job. There are excellent public transport links. The role involves working early and late shifts including weekends.
