About the team: The Payroll team is based in central Bristol. The team is responsible for the production of weekly and four weekly payrolls for GWR, TransPennine Trains Ltd (TPTL), Hull trains and Heathrow Express. The team processes all payroll and pension data and assists with the resolution of queries from staff and external organisations.
About the job: This position supports the payroll function of GWR, it is responsible for both processing payroll data and providing day-to-day support and reports to the team and support functions. To deliver a high-quality payroll service to GWR and other company payroll services provided by GWR.

Your main responsibilities will be:
- Responsible for the accurate processing of data into the payroll system from status returns, timesheets, and all other business forms.
- Ensuring that all interfaces from internal and external sources are effectively checked and controlled before submission to the payroll system.
- Producing attendance, annual leave and other business-related reports and dealing with email requests.
- Responding to colleague queries relating to payroll and attendance data.
- Ensuring GDPR compliance for internal and external data.
- Ensuring compliance with the GWR delegated authority matrix ensuring all GWR managers have appropriate authorisation levels to submit and authorise payroll data.
- Adhoc duties as and when required.
You’ll need to be:
- Experienced in working in a large payroll department and working to tight deadlines.
- Experienced in dealing with multiple terms and conditions.
- Proactive with a positive can-do attitude.
- Able to provide excellent customer service.
- Professional, confident and act with a high level of integrity at all times.
As a minimum, you will need to have:
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of payroll processes.
- Knowledge of statutory payroll legislation.
- Accurate and with strong attention to detail.
- Strong system skills, including Excel and ideally Cyborg.
About the location: The team are currently based in a modern office space in central Bristol.
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday - 35 hours per week.
Additional Information: There will be a requirement to work occasional weekends.
