We are recruiting for a Talent Pool of Qualified Train Drivers who want to deliver a high-quality rail service across the GWR network. Our Qualified Train Drivers play a crucial role in setting a new standard for rail, focused on creating a relaxed, fast, efficient, and fun experience for our passengers. In addition, our Drivers provide technical and operational expertise within our teams, delivering the highest standards of service.

We pride ourselves on Safety and Customer Service and seek individuals with excellent Safety Critical records, who enjoy working as part of a team.

The role requires exceptional focus and attention to detail. Your ability to follow protocols and make critical decisions will be second to none. Additional Information:

Safety and our Passengers are at the heart of everything we do at GWR. The application process involves an online Situational Judgement exercise, a review of the RSSB B1 Transfer of Safety Critical Information history, and a selection interview to assess key role requirements.

  • Do you live within 60 minutes commuting distance of the depot? For safety reasons, you must live within this maximum commuting time and be able to arrive for various shifts, including weekends and nights, which may have varying start and finish times.
