About the job
This position supports the payroll function of TPTL and is responsible for both processing payroll data and providing day-to-day support and reports to the team and support functions. The role requires flexibility to work across all entity payrolls to ensure a high-quality payroll service is delivered to GWR, TPTL, Hull Trains and Heathrow Express.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for compiling, amending and uploading data into the payroll systems from the various operating systems for TPTL.
- Ensure that all interfaces from internal and external sources are effectively checked and controlled before submission to the payroll system.
- Support payroll administrators and cover their work as required.
- Resolve complex payroll queries received internally and externally by email.
- Provide operational management and colleagues with support and assistance regarding current and past legislation.
- Ensure GDPR compliance for internal and external data.
- Ensure compliance with the TPTL delegated authority matrix that managers have appropriate authorisation levels.
- Adhoc duties as required.
You\’ll need to be
- Experienced in working in a large payroll department and working to tight deadlines.
- Experienced in dealing with multiple terms and conditions.
- Proactive with a positive can-do attitude.
- Able to provide excellent customer service.
- Professional, confident and act with a high level of integrity at all times.
As a minimum you\’ll need to have
- Strong communication and people skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of payroll processes.
- Knowledge of statutory payroll legislation.
- Accurate and with strong attention to detail.
- Strong system skills, including Excel and ideally Cyborg.
Location & working pattern
Location: The team are based in a modern office space in central Bristol.
Working pattern: Monday to Friday – 22 hours per week.
Additional information
There will be a requirement to work occasional weekends and bank holidays to ensure payrolls are delivered on time.
