About the Job
Your role of the Procurement Manager is to lead on a variety of procurement projects (tenders) across all spend areas, particularly Property and Maintenance, with support from others within the team. You will be an enthusiastic, self-motivated individual with good interpersonal skills who can work both independently and within a wider multi-functional stakeholder team.
Preferred candidates will have experience in the following areas:
- Regulated procurement experience
- Minor/Major Works
- Property Maintenance
- Construction Procurement
- Good understanding of UK contract law and applied experience
- Procurement experience within the Public Sector is essential
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Lead end-to-end sourcing strategies to deliver value for money across contracts
- Manage competitive, compliant tender exercises in a regulated environment (Pro Act 23)
- Build strong knowledge of relevant supplier markets to support effective decision-making
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Support senior colleagues on complex regulated procurements
- Drive value through supplier relationship management and commercial negotiations
About You
Proven experience leading multiple procurement projects concurrently, managing the full procurement lifecycle from tender drafting through to contract award and execution. Demonstrable experience in complex, regulated (Pro Act 23) compliant tendering within a public sector organisation. Strong pre-and post-award contract management experience, with a sound understanding of basic contract law. Previous experience in a procurement role, with a track record of effective supplier relationship and performance management. Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders. Highly organised with strong time-management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities. Proactive in driving projects forward, providing clear updates and reports to stakeholders. Strong analytical, data management and reporting skills, with proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
About the location
Base location Swindon/London/Bristol, flexibility will be considered. You will be issued travel pass to travel on the GWR Network. Working Pattern Full-time, fixed term contract for 24 months.
