Staff Nurse (Emergency Department)

At Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, our Emergency Department is at the heart of urgent care in Swindon and the surrounding region. We\’re looking for passionate, resilient, and compassionate Band 5 Staff Nurses to join our dynamic and supportive ED team.
This role is offered on either a full-time or part-time basis, giving you flexibility to balance your career with your lifestyle.
- ? You\’ll be expected to work the full spectrum of shifts, which includes long days, long nights, and twilight hours.
- ? Each shift lasts 11 hours and 45 minutes, and we do not operate short shifts.
- ? Flexibility and commitment to covering all shift types is essential.

Main duties of the job
What we\’re looking for?
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration.
- A calm, confident communicator with excellent clinical judgement.
- A collaborator with a flexible approach and a passion for emergency care.
- Previous ED experience is desirable but not essential, we welcome nurses looking to transition into emergency nursing.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high quality care to a defined patient group either within the acute hospital or community based setting. They are responsible for the assessment, development,delivery and evaluation of evidence based individualised patient care within the boundaries of their role.
The post holder will contribute to the continuing development of standards of care including developments of nursing standards and monitoring of outcomes. The post holder will be expected to continue with their own professional development.

- Able to demonstrate effective consolidation of nursing knowledge and practice after qualification and Preceptorship
