This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist looking for a unique cross sector position. This joint appointment with the University of Bath will involve working collaboratively with other practice educators to design, deliver and assess practice based learning elements of the pharmacy undergraduate degree course including Bath\’s very successful Clinical Learning in Practice (CLIP) model. The successful individual will be required to cover a range of face-to-face teaching activities and elements of assessment. There is also a requirement to provide pastoral support to individual students. As a clinical pharmacist there is the opportunity to practice as a non-medical prescriber. The post holder will divide their time equally between working for the University of Bath

Main duties of the job

Main Purpose of the JobWorking in a 50:50 split between GWH Pharmacy and UoB\’s Department of Pharmacy and Pharmacology,the post-holder will provide specialist clinical pharmacy services to agreed areas within the hospital. Theywill primarily be based at GWH and lead the local design, delivery and assessment of practice-based learning for undergraduate pharmacy students at UoB, with some off-site and campus-based teaching by agreement.

To support responsible person and deputies in ensuring that the facilities and service are compliant with allaspects of Good Distribution Practice (EU GDP 2013/C 343/01), and all other relevant medicines regulations and quality standards. To manage related training provision to all operational staff within the facility. To act as an operational lead in any relevant aspects of regulatory audit (internal and external).

Job Description

Job responsibilities

  • Design, deliver, and assess high quality teaching and learning to undergraduate and postgraduate students which is informed by significant professional expertise gained via practice, research/study and teaching experience. This will include identification of learning objectives and teaching methods, development of materials and resources, and direct facilitation of in-person teaching sessions.
  • To practise as a specialist clinical pharmacist as agreed with the clinical lead and relevant deputy. This will involve ward and dispensary clinical work and contributing to the ongoing operational provision of the pharmacy service according to departmental rotas.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Qualifications Essential

  • MPharm Degree
  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Postgraduate diploma or MSc in clinical pharmacy, community pharmacy or similar
  • Commitment to own continuous professional development (CPD)

Desirable

  • Appropriate teaching qualification or professional recognition (e.g. PGCert, FHEA or equivalent)
  • Member of Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS)
  • Non-medical prescriber

Experience Essential

  • Highly experienced as qualified pharmacist
  • Experience in a senior clinical pharmacy position

Desirable

  • Experience of design, delivery and assessment of undergraduate-level teaching and learning
