Job Summary
We are currently working with a nursery who are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to lead their over 3\’s room at their nursery in Witham, Essex. This role offers an excellent work-life balance, with a four-day workweek totaling 38 hours, and a consistent day off each week. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality education, care, and assessment for children while ensuring a safe and stimulating environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the over 3\’s room, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, assessment, and care for all children.
- Maintain a safe, caring, and stimulating environment both indoors and outdoors, in line with Ofsted requirements.
- Develop strong partnerships with parents and carers to foster involvement in their child\’s development.
- Support and manage nursery practitioners within your room, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other professionals in the local area to benefit children and families.
- Ensure the nursery meets all regulatory requirements, including child protection, safety protocols, and emergency response.
- Support the planning and implementation of activities that help children achieve early learning goals.
- Participate in the key person system, exchanging information about children\’s progress with parents.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support the nursery\’s aims and objectives.
Requirements
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education.
- At least 3 years of recent experience in a nursery setting, ideally in a senior position.
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and current Ofsted statutory guidance.
- Proven experience in implementing high-quality learning opportunities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Paediatric First Aid certification.
- A calm, caring nature with a commitment to quality and a creative approach to problem-solving.
- Reliable, flexible, and with a good sense of humor.
