Job Description

NURSERY PRACTITIONER Rainham

Qualification: Level 2 Early Years qualification or above Start date: 7 September 2026 Working pattern: Term time only

The role Great Starts Recruitment is working with an Early Years setting in Rainham to recruit a warm, enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to work with children aged 2-5 years.

You will play a hands-on role in creating meaningful learning experiences and helping every child feel safe, confident and supported.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide a safe, nurturing and engaging environment where children can learn, explore and thrive.
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate experiences in line with the EYFS and children's individual interests and needs.
  • Act as a key person where required, supporting observations, assessments and children's next steps.
  • Follow safeguarding, health and safety, hygiene and nursery policies at all times.
  • Build warm, professional relationships with children, parents, carers and colleagues and contribute positively to the wider team.

What we're looking for

  • A full and relevant Early Years qualification at Level 2 or above.
  • A sound understanding of the EYFS and safeguarding responsibilities.
  • A caring, reliable and proactive approach, with strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience working with children aged 2-5 years is desirable.
