Great Starts Recruitment are working exclusively with a well-established and expanding early years organisation in Essex to recruit an experienced Senior Nursery Manager. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident nursery leader who is passionate about forest school principles, outdoor learning, and high-quality early years education. The role oversees one day nursery and three out-of-school clubs, supporting both operational excellence and future.

The Role

  • Full-time position
  • 4 days per week
  • Working hours: 7:30am – 6:30pm
  • Multi-site leadership responsibility

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage high-quality early years provision across multiple settings
  • Champion outdoor learning and forest school ethos
  • Lead Ofsted inspections and liaise with local authorities
  • Manage staffing, HR processes, and professional development
  • Monitor and improve occupancy levels
  • Work closely with operational and marketing teams
  • Oversee health & safety across settings
  • Manage budgets and control setting expenditure
  • Lead self-evaluation and quality assurance processes
  • Ensure EYFS, safeguarding, and policy compliance

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Nursery Manager or Senior Nursery Manager
  • Strong leadership experience within a day nursery setting
  • Good understanding of HR and people management
  • Experience managing occupancy and supporting growth
  • Confident IT skills, including Excel
  • Passion for early years education and outdoor learning
