Duties and responsibilities related to the Chef de Partie (Staff Restaurant) role:

  • Be fully familiar with all food items offered in the staff canteen, including daily menus, rotating specials, and dietary-specific options.
  • Stay informed about seasonal products and cost-effective ingredients commonly used in large-volume staff catering.
  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., HR, F&B, Purchasing) to maximise colleague satisfaction and ensure smooth meal service operations.
  • Follow standardised recipes and portion controls to maintain consistency, manage food cost within budget, and minimise wastage.
  • Ensure all food items are prepared, presented, and served attractively, with attention to freshness, temperature control, and canteen service standards.
  • Maintain strict hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices, ensuring that all equipment, utensils, and food storage areas are handled and maintained correctly in line with HACCP or hotel requirements.

You are a confident and organised culinary professional with strong practical skills and experience working in fast-paced kitchen environments, ideally within high-volume, staff-focused or canteen-style operations. You take pride in preparing fresh, well-balanced dishes and can adapt menus to meet a wide range of dietary and cultural needs. Consistency is important to you, and you are comfortable following standardised recipes, managing portion control, and supporting cost-effective kitchen practices. You naturally uphold excellent hygiene and food safety standards, working cleanly, efficiently, and with a high level of care. You communicate clearly, collaborate well with colleagues across departments, and remain calm and reliable even when the kitchen is busy. Most importantly, you bring a genuine passion for hospitality and a belief that great food contributes to colleague wellbeing.
