Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site role for a Creative Artworker based in York. As a Creative Artworker at Great Rail Journeys, you will play a vital role within the design team in the production and delivery of high-quality marketing materials. This is a varied, fast-paced position ideal for a creative who thrives on execution. You will be responsible for taking established design concepts and rolling them out across various formats, ensuring every asset is on-brand, accurate, and delivered to specification. From sourcing the perfect image of a Swiss mountain train to ensuring a brochure page is print-ready, your attention to detail will be crucial.
Responsibilities:
- Digital Asset Creation: Creating and adapting headers, banners, and graphic elements for our busy email marketing and web schedules. Producing static and simple video assets for the website and both paid and organic social media campaigns (Facebook, Instagram) adapted for different formats (Stories, Feed, Reels).
- Print Artwork: Working with the other designers on the layout and artworking of our extensive portfolio of brochures. Working on direct mail campaigns, from postcards to multi-page mailers, preparing accurate, print-ready files for external suppliers.
- Photography & Visual Support: You will source on-brand inspiring, high-quality photographs from stock libraries and internal archives that accurately reflect our diverse tour itineraries for use on our website and brochures. Resizing to ensure photographs look their best in both print and digital.
- Map Design: Creating clear, accurate, and aesthetically pleasing maps to illustrate our tour routes. Amending existing to reflect itinerary changes or updates.
Who you are: Our success relies on individuals who are passionate about delivering quality, innovative and user-focused digital experiences. In addition to being enthusiastic and committed, the following characteristics are required for this role:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar creative role with a strong, technically proficient portfolio.
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Premier and After Effects (Creative Suite).
- Attention to detail, you spot typos and misalignments that others miss.
- Good understanding of print/printing processes and online.
- A good eye for photographic selection and composition.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take direction well.
- A genuine interest in the travel and tourism sector.
- Familiarity with designing for e-commerce, digital marketing, and social media.
