Reporting to the Management Accountant, the Assistant Management Accountant will support the delivery of a comprehensive and professional accounting function to Great Places Housing Group.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support the production of prompt, accurate, meaningful and well explained monthly management accounts to facilitate budgetary control and meetings with budget holders.
  • Support the production of specified balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis to ensure regulatory indicators and financial covenants can be monitored.
  • Support the accounting and reporting for statutory accounts, regulatory returns and internal reporting.
  • Monitor and update financial timetables and proactively ensure deadlines are met.
  • Prepare routine journals under the direction of the Finance Business Partners or Management Accountants.
  • Prepare working paper templates for statutory and regulatory returns, statutory accounts, budgets or the business plan in line with the timetable agreed by the Senior Finance Team.

What you’ll need:

  • AAT Qualified (or qualified by experience).
  • Use of full range of Microsoft Office, with knowledge in Excel.
  • Ability to complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner when working under pressure.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Effective liaison with staff/other stakeholders to give information/find information/resolve problems.
  • Organisation and ability to time-manage workload.
  • Able to deliver a high standard of customer service.
  • The ability to develop and project a positive image of Great Places through personal, written and oral skills.
