We welcome applications from Quantity Surveyors at all levels of experience. Salary will be reflective of skills, knowledge, and experience.
You will be responsible for quantity surveying financial management for projects on the Great Places annual investment programme, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the appropriate quality standard. You will be required to liaise directly with the key stakeholders within Great Places as well as contractors and consultants to ensure the successful investment programme delivery.
What you will be doing:
- Support overseeing the annual investment programme estimated value of circa £15m to £20m
- Work with all teams within assets, compliance, building safety and the wider business
- Managing external contractors and consultants
- Analysing data as part of investment programme delivery to ensure appropriate investment decisions
- Drafting reports for presentation at leadership committee
- Provide technical advice in terms of procurement, contract selection and appropriate contract terms
- Ensuring Final accounts are agreed and closed to allow works to be capitalised in line with deadlines
- Work with finance business partners to monitor and report expenditure and identify financial risk
- Ensuring compliance with legislative and statutory obligations
- Positive customer engagement
- Represent Great Places at stakeholder meetings
What you'll need:
- Established quantity surveying experience and knowledge
- Experience working in property and construction with a good technical knowledge
- Ideally, experience of working in a social housing
- Understanding of building contracts, tendering, procurement and commercial management
- Experience of planning and projects management and managing programme delivery
- Data analysis skills to prepare reports for senior management team
- A good knowledge of IT and systems
- Build and sustain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment, manage multiple activities and priorities to deadlines
- Customer focused with track record of high customer satisfaction
- Willingness to take on new responsibilities and a desire to develop new skills
- A degree in relevant discipline
- Professional qualification or working towards, MCIOB, MRICS, MAPM other as appropriate
