Join our friendly team at the over 55s extra care housing scheme in Bispham, Blackpool, where youll play a key part in creating a safe, welcoming, and comfortable home for our residents. Reporting to the Caretaking Supervisor, youll take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and carrying out minor repairs, helping our customers feel secure and proud of where they live. What youll be doing
- Work as part of a dedicated, flexible team to manage accommodation for our customers and ensure the smooth running of the building.
- Maintain the safety and security of residents, colleagues, visitors, contractors, premises, and equipment.
- Identify and report repairs in communal areas, and follow up to ensure they are completed promptly.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to any safeguarding concerns in line with Great Places procedures.
- Record, address, and escalate customer feedback, complaints, or compliments as needed.
- Carry out cleaning duties for all internal and external communal areas, following Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines.
- Monitor and maintain an adequate stock of cleaning materials and equipment.
- Undertake Health and Safety building duties as directed by the Independent Living Manager, consistently following Great Places Health and Safety procedures.
What we need from you
- A full UK driving licence.
- Competent with IT and confident using hand-held devices.
- Able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines.
- Previous experience in a similar Caretaker role, with confidence carrying out general handyman tasks.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a flexible approach to your working day.
- Awareness of Health and Safety for yourself and others on site.
- A commitment to working in partnership with others to benefit Great Places.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including outside normal hours when needed to maintain service continuity.
- A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer service.
