Main duties of the job
What does a great Supply Chain Officer do?
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of materials management and knowledge of general supply chain management principles from the receipting of goods, to the importance of the supply flow within a hospital environment.
- Show an understanding of technologies used for the management of supplies.
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and be able to react positively under pressure in a demanding environment.
- Show effective problem solving skills to ensure that all aspects of the supply chain work for the benefit of the trust in terms of supply and financial management.
- Be flexible as this is a full time post working hours per week on rotational shifts which can be interchangeable to cover service requirement

Academic/Professional qualification/Training
Essential criteria
- GCSE or equivalent Maths and / or English
- NVQ Level 2 in Supply Chain Management (or working towards)
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Customer Services equivalent
Experience/Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Understanding of Materials Management service
- Working to tight timescales
- Inventory Controls
- Electronic Inventory management systems
Desirable criteria
- Importance in adherence to Health & Safety requirements
- General knowledge of tasks undertaken in a Procurement/Supply Chain environment
