An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced radiographer to work at the largest paediatric radiology department in Europe.
We are seeking to recruit a vibrant, dynamic, and diverse team an enthusiastic and highly motivated full-time Superintendent Radiographer to lead and deliver the General X-ray department service.
This is an exciting time to join the department with a new cancer wing opening in 2026, new equipment with innovative technology, including a Siemens Cios Spin for spinal imaging, and the development of an apprenticeship Radiographer scheme.
This role is ideal for those looking to utilize both management and clinical skills in a supportive and innovative department committed to excellent diagnostic service for patients, parents, and families.
You will need excellent clinical, management, and technical experience, leading a team of dedicated radiographers with exceptional imaging, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Your responsibilities will include equipment optimization, staff training and development, and advancing quality, service, and patient care across modalities.
Main duties of the job
- Manage and oversee operational issues of the General X-ray, Fluoroscopy, Dental X-ray, cone beam CT, and DEXA services.
- Promote and deliver a patient-focused service, maintaining high standards of patient care and responsiveness.
- Monitor and manage waiting lists, proactively working to reduce waits in compliance with guidelines.
- Lead professional management of radiographic staff and administrative staff, ensuring mandatory PDRs.
- Undertake clinical imaging duties.
- Manage daily operations including staff supervision, shift allocation, emergency prioritization, and workload organization.

- HDCR, MSc or significant experience in Diagnostic Radiography
- HCPC Radiographer Registration
- Leadership training/qualification
Experience/Knowledge
- Experience in Diagnostic Imaging, especially Paediatric Radiography
- Knowledge of Clinical Governance, Quality assurance, GDPR, IRR (17), IR(ME)R 2017
- Leadership experience
- Teaching and supervising junior staff
- Understanding patient, carer, and family needs
- Knowledge of PACS and EPIC systems
- Experience with Dental Cone Beam CT
