Do you want to start or further your career in clinical research as part of a team at the forefront of discovery of groundbreaking therapies for childhood and rare diseases?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Administrator to join our dynamic research team supporting the delivery of research in the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Our diverse Research and Innovation directorate, including the NIHR Great Ormond Street Clinical Research Facility, provides a high quality, clinical and academic research environment, in which children and young people can take part in research programmes safely and effectively, according to robust and ethically approved protocols.

The Research Administrator role would be an excellent starting point for someone interested in pursuing a career in clinical research. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and self-motivated candidate, who will be responsible for providing efficient and responsive administrative support to the clinical and non-clinical research teams in the delivery of a portfolio of studies, embedded within the critical care research team. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational skills as they will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks requiring the ability to show initiative, be flexible and adopt a proactive approach to managing their workload.

The role will involve effective communication with research and clinical teams within the Trust and external stakeholders. They will establish, maintain and monitor effective office and information systems.

You may also be responsible for study start up activities and preparation of study documentation. You will assist the Research Nurses and Coordinators in the preparation of study submissions and local tracking of applications, ensuring collection, review and provision of appropriate clinical documents to support regulatory submission.
