Caretaker – Great Oaks College

Great Oaks College is a specialist independent college for young adults with Special Educational Needs, operating two sites: Hounslow (The Triangle) and Sunbury on Thames (Windmill). The college provides further education to students aged 19‑25 with a range of learning difficulties and additional needs such as physical disabilities, sensory impairments and autism. We run three Pathways: Vocational, Life and Living and Engagement for Life.

Responsibilities

The Caretaker will maintain the safety, cleanliness and security of the premises and carry out minor repairs, supporting a positive environment for students and staff. The role also involves shift work across both sites (07:30‑15:30 / 10:00‑18:00).

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar caretaker or building maintenance role is preferred.
• Understanding of working around individuals with special needs is essential.
• Successful completion of an enhanced DBS check, adult barring and references.
• Successful completion of a twenty‑six working week probation period.

Contract Details

Permanent full‑time (36 hours per week). Start date: ASAP. Probation: 26 working weeks.
