High-quality preparation, painting and professional wallpapering We are looking for an experienced, highly skilled and reliable Decorator to join our team at Great Oaks Care Home as part of an ongoing refurbishment project. This is a fantastic opportunity for a decorator who takes real pride in their work and is passionate about achieving a professional, high-quality finish. The contract is due to start in January, with approximately 9–12 months of work available. We are looking for someone who can commit to the project and consistently deliver work to a very high standard. The successful candidate will need to have a keen eye for detail and understand that achieving a quality finish starts with thorough preparation. We are not looking for someone who simply applies paint or wallpaper β€” the preparation and attention to detail are just as important as the finished product. The role will involve decorating throughout all areas of the care home, including bedrooms, corridors, lounges, communal areas and other spaces within the building. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable working across a variety of environments and adapting their approach to suit each area. The role will include: β€’ Decorating bedrooms, corridors, lounges, communal areas and other areas throughout the home β€’ Thorough preparation of walls and surfaces prior to decorating β€’ Filling, sanding and making good imperfections to ensure a smooth and even finish β€’ Painting to a consistently high standard β€’ Hanging wallpaper to an exceptional professional standard β€’ Ensuring wallpaper is correctly aligned, level and neatly finished β€’ Taking particular care with wallpaper joins, corners, edges and difficult areas β€’ Ensuring surfaces are properly prepared before wallpaper is applied β€’ Protecting surrounding areas, fixtures and furnishings while working β€’ Keeping work areas clean, tidy and safe throughout the project β€’ Working efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship β€’ Identifying and rectifying any imperfections before an area is considered complete Wallpapering is an important part of this role, and we are particularly looking for someone who has extensive experience in this area. The finished wallpaper should be of an exceptionally high standard, with straight and accurately matched patterns, clean joins and professional finishing around corners, doorways, windows and other features. We are looking for a decorator who takes pride in thorough preparation and understands the difference this makes to the finished result. Walls should be properly filled, sanded and prepared before wallpapering or painting begins, helping to achieve the best possible finish across the project. The successful candidate will be: β€’ Experienced and confident in all aspects of decorating β€’ Highly skilled in wallpapering β€’ Extremely attentive to detail β€’ Proud of the quality of their workmanship β€’ Reliable, professional and hardworking β€’ Able to work independently and manage their workload effectively β€’ Committed to maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working environment β€’ Able to consistently deliver a high-quality finish β€’ Flexible and willing to travel to other company sites occasionally when required This is a great opportunity for an experienced decorator looking for a substantial period of work with a team that values quality and attention to detail. If you take pride in your workmanship, have a high standard of finish and are confident in both preparation and professional wallpapering, we would love to hear from you. #IND001
