We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wrap Around Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high‐quality care and supervision to our children during before and after‐school hours ensuring a positive start and end of their school day.

Position Details

  • Accountable to: Wrap Around Care Lead

Purpose of the Job

To provide support and care for the children who attend wrap around care at Great Missenden C of E Primary School, ensuring children have a positive start and finish to their day at school. To be part of a team providing a safe and stimulating environment for the children with appropriate play opportunities, planned activities and healthy food.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the club lead to ensure the smooth and reliable operation of the club.
  • Ensure the safe arrival of children and delivery to carers at the beginning and end of the club sessions.
  • Record and monitor child arrival and departure on registers including School Gateway/Arbor in line with school processes.
  • Set up the room for daily activities, assist with care and cleanliness, and tidy the room at the end of the day.
  • Help plan and deliver safe, creative, appropriate activities in a fun and caring environment.
  • Prepare and serve snacks and food for children, ensuring hygiene, health and safety measures are met.
  • Promote healthy eating and lifestyle.
  • Manage children's behaviour positively and act responsibly as a role model at all times.
  • Keep children safe and minimise risks in the wrap around care environment.
  • Administer and record first aid as appropriate.
  • Apply the school's policies and procedures.
  • Participate in appropriate school‐based meetings and training activities within contracted hours.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties or requests in keeping with this post.
  • Support the school by adhering to policies, being a good role model of the school's vision & values, being professional at all times, and attending relevant child protection training when required.
  • Enact Health and Safety requirements, ensure GDPR compliance, and operate within the school's Equal Opportunities framework.

Essential

  • Experience of working with children in a play, childcare or out‐of‐school setting.
  • Excellent communication skills with children, parents/carers and colleagues.
  • Good organisational, record keeping and planning skills.
  • A positive approach to inclusive practice with children and colleagues.
  • Professionally discrete and able to respect confidentiality at all times.
  • Commitment to the school values & ethos.
  • Positivity and enthusiasm with a genuine passion for working with children.
