Established in 1978, the company now employs over 2,000 professionals across six factories and sixteen advanced production lines. Great Foods produces a wide range of food products, including concentrates, IQF products, canned vegetables, canned sauces, juices, and has a strong presence in the processed tomato market. This is a full-time, on-site Sales Professional role based in Reading, and reporting into the UK Sales Director. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing and expanding relationships with key retail, wholesale, and foodservice customers, and achieving volume and revenue targets for Great Foods’ product portfolio. Daily activities include:
- Prospecting and qualifying leads
- Conducting client meetings and product presentations
- Preparing quotations
- Negotiating pricing and contract terms within company guidelines
The role involves coordinating closely with marketing, supply chain, technical and customer service teams to ensure accurate forecasting, timely deliveries, and high levels of customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will also monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to support strategic planning and report regularly on sales performance and pipeline status.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated skills in B2B sales, account management, and new business development within FMCG or food manufacturing sectors.
- Proficiency in negotiation, pricing discussions, and contract management, with the ability to close deals while maintaining long-term relationships.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders in retail, wholesale, and foodservice channels.
- Capability in pipeline management, sales forecasting, and basic data analysis using CRM tools and standard office applications (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint).
- Solid understanding of trade marketing, merchandising, and route-to-market strategies for consumer food products is highly beneficial.
- Proactive, results-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
- Experience in international trade, export sales, or working with Middle Eastern and European markets is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are an advantage.
