Overview
Our client, a leading medical device manufacturer in Scarborough, is looking for a Welder Helper to start immediately.
Shift: 8:30 am-5 pm (Monday to Friday)
Location: Scarborough, ON (McNicoll & Markham)
Responsibilities
- Assisted welders in welding of steel components based on specifications.
- Grinding, drilling and deburring as requested.
- Assemble items as instructed by welders.
- Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
- Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment manually (up to 40lbs).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least one year’s experience in manufacturing, particularly metal fabrication.
- Experience with grinding, drilling and deburring is required.
- Knowledge of machines and tools
- Ability to identify and measure material
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Demonstrated a professional, positive attitude and possesses a strong, dependable work ethic.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of health and safety principles and applications in the welding shop/workplace.
