Overview

Our client, a leading medical device manufacturer in Scarborough, is looking for a Welder Helper to start immediately.

Shift: 8:30 am-5 pm (Monday to Friday)

Location: Scarborough, ON (McNicoll & Markham)

Responsibilities

  • Assisted welders in welding of steel components based on specifications.
  • Grinding, drilling and deburring as requested.
  • Assemble items as instructed by welders.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
  • Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment manually (up to 40lbs).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • At least one year’s experience in manufacturing, particularly metal fabrication.
  • Experience with grinding, drilling and deburring is required.
  • Knowledge of machines and tools
  • Ability to identify and measure material
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated a professional, positive attitude and possesses a strong, dependable work ethic.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of health and safety principles and applications in the welding shop/workplace.
