The predicted salary is between 33900 - 42500 £ per year.

39-hour week. £42,480pa. Mon-Thurs 08:00-17:00. Fri 08:00-13:20. Site based MK43. Overtime available.

Responsibilities

  • As part of a small and dedicated maintenance team, undertake all aspects of test facility automation and controls system repairs.
  • Support the access control and CCTV systems onsite and consult with the onsite IT team to keep these critical systems online.
  • Diagnose faults within automation and controls systems and their associated instrumentation and safety systems.
  • Undertake maintenance, inspection, and repair of plant in accordance with the agreed maintenance regime, including scheduling new tasks.
  • Ensure that machinery and equipment meet safety regulations.
  • Intervene in the event of breakdowns, failures, or malfunctions - Diagnose & repair as required to agreed SLAs.
  • Fault find and install access control and CCTV hardware.
  • Consult with and manage suppliers and contractors to ensure the best possible service is delivered to the company.

Skills & Experience

  • A comprehensive understanding of electrical control systems, their structure, function, and components.
  • In-depth knowledge of complex mechanical and electromechanical equipment.
  • Ideally time served or City & Guilds or BTEC National qualification or equivalent in mechanical/electrical engineering or an allied qualification relevant to the role.
  • Good critical thinking skills with a methodical approach.
  • Ability to work in a varied role, working effectively on multiple tasks in parallel.
  • Initiative-taking, conscientious with the ability to communicate effectively and work either independently or as part of a team.
  • Well organised, good planning skills with an eye for detail.
  • Acutely aware of all H&S aspects and a strong understanding of isolation and lockout procedures.
  • A strong Mechanical and Electrical skillset, with the ability to solve complex faults requiring a multi-disciplined approach.
  • No issues with working in confined spaces or at height.
  • A good understanding of the fundamentals of TCP/IP networking and hardware.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Advantageous

  • A flexible and responsive attitude to go above and beyond when required.
  • Experience with industrial drives/VFDs.
  • Prior experience with the maintenance of environmental chambers or similar.
  • Rotating plant - Drives, gearboxes, fans & pumps.
  • Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge and attitude - understanding of and experience of conducting risk assessments.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Confined spaces and working at height.
  • A Current IPAF card 3a & 3b, PASMA card, or current forklift truck certification.
