On behalf of NRS, we are looking for a Project Engineer (Inside IR35) for a 12 month contract based in Hunterston. PSR is working with NRS (formerly known as Magnox) to identify the most talented people on the market. As a Project Engineer, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Identify project functional requirements and stakeholder needs for assigned project.
- Contribute to production of Project Execution Plan including design, safety case and commissioning strategies.
- Develop concept design and fit for purpose engineering solution for projects.
- Produce and/or approve project technical specifications.
- Manage detailed design activities in accordance with design authority standards.
- Support commissioning activities within operational plant environments, conducting pre-commissioning checks, functional testing, and system handovers in line with safety and technical standards.
- Operate effectively in highly regulated environments, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and governance frameworks while supporting audit and assurance processes.
- Possess applied Mechanical / EC&I engineering knowledge (HNC level or equivalent or higher) to interpret technical drawings and support installation, testing, and system validation.
- Experience performing hands-on physical testing and inspections to confirm system readiness, performance, and adherence to design specifications.
- Diagnose and resolve faults during commissioning and operations, carrying out root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
