About the Role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Assurance Manager to join our dedicated team at our Crediton sweet factory. This is a hands on role and we would love you to lead the development and audit of a robust, compliant quality management system in line with statutory, customer and best practice standards as well as create a lean culture of continuous improvement within all areas of the factory alongside department managers., * Responsible for heading factory external audits and maintaining all accreditation

To build and maintain a quality management system based on relevant audit standards and highlighting best practice

Work alongside the procurement team to ensure the supplier matrix is fully compliant including supplier audits

Responsible for preparing and managing our internal & external audits maintaining compliance and document validation

Lead the HACCP team within the business

Ensuring the day-to-day management of the Technical department team and schedules run smoothly and to schedule

Direct line report to the Site Manager

Ensure all non-conformances are raised, recorded, and managed working alongside other departments where needed to maintain compliance

Lead and develop the factory team so they are engaged and focused on quality and compliance

Chair the technical meetings

Drive factory standards and manage the hygiene team to achieve factory compliance

Accountable for the day-to-day management of the complaints log ensuring all food safety complaints are investigated, actioned, and reported on in full and on time

Accountable for ensuring all food safety complaints are responded to within 24 hours of receipt, managing all communication with the customer until closed/resolved.

Champion Food Safety and Health & Safety culture in the business

Responsible for heading factory tours spreading the Great British Confectionery magic to all visitors

Assisting and supporting the customer service and NPD team as and when required

Assist with the NPD sign off procedure

Experience in a lead auditing including BRC
-
Proven experience in quality assurance, preferably in a managerial role

Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety regulations with a minimum of level 3 award in HACCP

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and identify trends

Minimum Food Safety Level 3

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams, * lead auditing: 2 years (preferred)

Quality assurance: 2 years (preferred)
