The role:

Great British Chefs is looking for a Recipe Developer to join its content team. As a recipe developer at Great British Chefs you will be a core part of the team, researching, writing, cooking and styling accessible yet aspirational recipes for the GBC Kitchen section of our site. You will work closely alongside our Head of Content, Videographer and Recipe Editor to produce recipes for both GBC and its vast range of commercial partners, ensuring they all fit in with the overall content strategy and adhere to briefs. In addition, you will be required to source ingredients, be the go-to in our kitchen studio, participate in shaping the editorial calendar and generally assist the editorial team with a wide variety of tasks.

Requirements:

  • An unrivalled passion for and wide knowledge of food and cooking, including an interest in a wide range of world cuisines.
  • Demonstrable experience in creating and cooking recipes, be it in a professional kitchen, for social media or as a chef.
  • An ability to work to tight deadlines and be flexible.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Experience in writing and producing food content for social media, particularly Instagram.
  • An outgoing, friendly personality and a can-do attitude.
  • An advantage: Experience of writing and styling recipes for similar publications in either print or digital formats. Prior experience of using a content management system (CMS) and a knowledge of basic SEO principles.

Key responsibilities:

  • Creating and writing recipes for the Great British Chefs website and social media channels under the supervision of our Head of Content.
  • Cooking and styling the recipes for photo and video shoots.
  • Liaising with the Recipe Editor to ensure that all recipes are in line with Great British Chefs' house style and standards.
  • Helping to shape the editorial calendar.
  • Working closely with brands and commercial partners to ensure branded content nails each brief.
  • Assisting the wider editorial team when required.
