Job Description

Supporting our e-fulfilment operation for a well-known recognised brand. The site will handle the movement of customer-specific products, including beers, wines and spirits, within a fast-paced warehouse environment.

As a Warehouse Shift Manager you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the Operations Manager in the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring all aspects of Health & Safety within the Warehouse are maintained and product is picked and dispatched to the highest standard in order to meet contractual KPIs.

4 on 4 off nights, 18.00-06.00

Key Duties of a Warehouse Shift Manager:

  • Manage and motivate the shift team in order to ensure that productivity and service KPIs are achieved or exceeded.
  • Ensure the highest possible levels of health, safety and hygiene are upheld so that legislative and quality requirements can be complied with, ensuring relevant paperwork is completed and retained.
  • Ensuring the highest levels of Quality and compliance are maintained and that the site operates to the Audit standard required.
  • Deliver communication briefings so that all shifts are aware of all Company and local issues and employees are able to offer input / improvements and feel involved.
  • Develop all team members so that their contributions to the Warehouse can be maximised and succession plan.
  • Monitor and control sickness absence levels in line with Company policy and carry out return to work interviews effectively and efficiently.
  • To offer regular feedback, formal and informal, on team and individual performance, including behavioural issues and highlighting good performance and areas for further development.
  • Manpower planning, by ensuring the appropriate levels of overtime and agency workers to efficiently and cost effectively run the shift.
  • Enforce and adhere to all Company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and control training for teams, ensuring the correct amount of health & safety representation on shift, i.e. First Aiders, Fire Marshalls etc.
  • Support Management in any ad-hoc duties within the Warehouse function.

Previous warehouse operational experience.

Proven experience of all aspects of people management including probationary, attendance, performance and disciplinary matters.

Good IT skills, Microsoft packages and WMS.
