An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Transport Supervisor to join our team in Skelmersdale on a full time permanent basis!

Working Hours: Monday-Friday, 2pm-10pm.

Salary: £32,000 per annum.

As a Transport Supervisor you will be responsible for the 24/7 Transport operations, managing the Transport Supervisors and supporting the Transport Manager in ensuring that costs are controlled in line with budget / forecast expectations.

Job responsibilities of a Transport Supervisor include:

  • Communicating with Transport Manager and Transport Planning Teams to maximise backloads, identifying cost saving opportunities, trailer utilisation and cost efficiency.
  • Ensuring effective planning and utilisation of drivers and sub-contract haulage for deliveries out of multiple warehousing sites.
  • Acting as a point of escalation to deal with queries by telephone, fax and e-mail from our customer, sub contract hauliers and warehousing sites.
