In this role, you will support the Shift Manager in leading, motivating and developing the team, while making sure productivity, quality, health and safety, and customer service standards are achieved every day. You will play a key part in keeping the operation running smoothly and ensuring all customer requirements are delivered to a high standard.

This is a full-time, permanent position working Monday to Friday on a night shift from 10:00pm to 06:00am. Salary: £26,715 per annum.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead, organise and support a team of around 10 warehouse colleagues across the VAS operation, including labelling, out-of-case labelling and other customer-specific activities.
  • Drive shift performance to ensure productivity, service and operational KPI targets are consistently achieved.
  • Promote high standards of health, safety, hygiene and compliance, making sure all processes and records are completed accurately.
  • Carry out quality and compliance checks to ensure the operation meets customer and audit standards.
  • Deliver team briefings and clear communication so colleagues stay informed, engaged and focused on priorities.
  • Support the smooth running of goods in and warehouse operations so stock is received, handled and made available efficiently.
  • Coach, support and develop team members to maximise performance and encourage progression.
  • Support people processes, including investigations, disciplinary and grievance matters, in line with company procedures.

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous warehouse experience, ideally within a fast-paced operation.
  • Previous team leader or supervisory experience in a similar environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to share information clearly and confidently.
  • Able to prioritise workloads effectively and meet deadlines in a busy operational environment.
  • A proven ability to motivate teams and help deliver or exceed targets and KPIs.
  • Confident using IT systems and standard computer applications.
  • Professional, approachable and supportive in the way you work with others.

Benefits:

  • Annual Leave – 20 days inclusive of the bank holidays.
  • Pension scheme – We want colleagues to enjoy a comfortable retirement, so we offer a great contribution of 5% employee and 3% employer.
  • Life Assurance – 2× your annual salary.
  • Wellness – Via our Employee Assistance Programme we offer immediate access to a confidential telephone counselling and legal information service that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Eye Care Vouchers – We can provide you with substantial savings with free eye tests and discounts on prescription glasses.
  • Reward & Recognition – We recognise that employees have gone the extra mile via Employee of the Month and Year, special recognition and long service awards.
  • Everyday discounts – Via our benefit platform you will have access to over 50 retailer discounts for everyday savings.
