Joining the team as a Warehouse Shift Manager, you will be responsible for proactively managing the day to day aspects of the operation whilst focusing on delivering consistent performance. You will also work alongside the Senior Shift Manager and Depot Manager to fine tune the current operation as well as manage and motivate the large team of employees.
Working hours: 4 on 4 off nights, 18:00-06:00
Key Duties of a Warehouse Shift Manager:
- Leading and motivating a team of Team Leaders and General Warehouse Operatives in their daily workload.
- Managing team attendance, performance, productivity and accuracy levels.
- Ensuring that orders are picked, marshalled, unloaded and loaded in line with customer specifications.
- Carrying out daily inspections to ensure full compliance with policies and procedures, and KPIs are being achieved.
- Driving continuous improvement within the warehouse and implementing plans to consistently improve the performance.
- Maintaining a good working knowledge of warehouse operational areas including returns, inventory control, co-pack, delivery schedules along with Health & Safety procedures.
- Communicating effectively regularly with staff, customers and other areas of the business to maintain and develop positive relationships.
- Controlling labour costs whilst ensuring a flow of work is maintained throughout the warehouse without any disruption to the business.
- Completing and carrying out Personal Development Plans for all members of the team.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience within a similar management position within Warehouse Operations.
- People Management experience - Manage, motivate and support a large team.
- Understanding and experience with HR processes in relation to people management.
- Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships.
- PC literate including good working knowledge of MS packages and WMS.
