We would like to present you with an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner to join our team in Mansfield on a full time permanent basis.
Salary: £29,090 - £32,404 per annum, depending on experience.
Working hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm.
As Transport Planner you will oversee the day to day planning of the transport operation. A highly motivated and driven individual, you will be experienced at working in a busy transport department, able to deal with day to day challenges and provide cost effective solutions to the customer.
Key Duties of a Transport Planner:
- Subcontracting and planning orders out of multiple warehouse facilities and manufacturing sites across the UK.
- Complete compliance administration to support Transport Managers daily / weekly tasks.
- Planning daily workload for a fleet: vehicles based on and off site.
- Dealing with queries and issues by telephone, fax and email from our customers, sub-contract hauliers and warehousing sites.
- Liaising with Traffic and Administration teams to ensure the highest standards of performance are maintained at all times.
- Maintaining, creating and updating spreadsheets and databases for customer reports.
- Reporting problems and dealing with issues and any queries that arise.
- Support the fleet and driver training team as and when required.
- Complete pre and post de-brief for all driver shifts.
- Deliver effective, professional and timely internal and external communications.
Qualifications:
- Be able to demonstrate a high level of transport planning expertise in a busy and demanding environment.
- Have excellent problem solving, analytical and organisational skills.
- Be able to make decisions under pressure, and to a tight timescale.
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year.
- Be able to communicate well at all levels within the business.
- Have the ability to identify and suggest improvements to benefit both the Company and our customer.
- Be a highly motivated individual able to work as part of a small friendly team, and under own initiative.
- Knowledge of SAP, BPCS and Road Runner would be advantageous.
