Job Description: We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Technical Warehouse Operations Support Manager to join us supporting our e-fulfilment operation for a well-known recognised brand, handling the movement of customer-specific products, including beers, wines and spirits, within a fast-paced warehouse environment.
As a Technical Ops Support Manager, you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse. The role will take ownership ensuring all required technical equipment is in place and running as it should. You will lead a team and whilst carrying out their duties always maintain Health and Safety and provide a knowledgeable, solutions-based approach to the Warehouse to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of this technical function.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hour week.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage a team of Technical Operations Support staff, who play a role in smooth day-to-day running of the technical function in the warehouse.
- Act as primary liaison between Technical IT support teams and warehouse operations team, troubleshooting WMS Issues, barcode scanner failures and network dropouts.
- Responsible for the upkeep of the Critical inventory and oversee the maintenance and operation of automated equipment, conveyors and machinery.
- Manage and escalate hardware and software incidents.
- Ensure all relevant equipment remains compliant and fit for purpose.
- Work closely with 3rd Party suppliers, contractors and liaisons with Customer Ops Excellence teams.
- Assist the Picking and Packing Team by providing Engineering solutions to assist in Operational capacity.
- Monitor all machines and ancillary plant to drive efficiency and reliability.
- Carry out planned maintenance, inspections and complete repairs with little disruption to the Operational schedules.
- Look for opportunities to continuously improve performance and proactively make recommendations regarding the equipment to meet the site operational requirements and future development.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar IT / Technical role within a logistics or manufacturing background is advantageous.
- A demonstrable track record in managing high volume, high service driven warehouse operations.
- Experienced in automated or mechanical sortation.
- Mechanical background.
- Technically minded with extensive IT skills.
- Experience of CIP, ideally including formal programs such as Kaizen, Six Sigma and Lean would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to converse at all levels.
- A highly confident and proactive individual able to represent the Company and customer.
- Experience in a Warehouse/Logistics environment is preferential along with working in a manual pack-bench e-commerce operation. However, full training will be provided on successful appointment.
