Reporting directly to the General Manager, the successful candidate will form an integral part of the site management team and be pivotal to the overall success of the site and business by managing the day-to-day running of the Co-Pack Department, ensuring that all Service and Cost targets are met or exceeded, that all Health & Safety requirements are met and that the highest standards of housekeeping are maintained. There will be a regular requirement to interface and build customer relations in line with the Commercial targets and site objectives.
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08.00-16.00
Key Duties of a Co Pack Manager:
- To effectively motivate, lead and manage the co pack operations team.
- Ensure compliance to Company and Legal requirements of H&S and Quality.
- To manage the operation in line with the Quality Management System e.g. quality records and checks are carried out by the function.
- To interface daily/weekly with 3rd parties with regard to equipment utilisation, hours, revenue and labour cost.
- To provide capacity plans in line with customer forecasts highlighting future resource constraints.
- Ensure products are in line with the agreed Quality standards and ensure the final product meets client specifications.
- Plan labour to effectively maximise production efficiency to ensure plan is met on an hourly/Shift basis and manage changeover of lines/product and sign off ready for production runs.
- Lead the implementation of the overall Operational Strategy.
- Liaise with other key departments, including customers regarding production plan and ensure the plan is met.
- Ensure production process efficiency targets are communicated, owned, targeted and delivered. e.g. labour and waste.
- Attend customer review meetings when required.
- Liaise with internal departments providing effective communication of production requirement.
- Fully utilise systems available to drive Continuous Improvement in all areas of the Co-pack operation and wider site.
- Ensure that all areas comply with hygienic audits, both internal and external and GMP (good manufacturing practices) and housekeeping (clean as you go) are strictly adhered to.
- Ensure all training / skills matrixes are up to date. Identify and manage any gaps as required to support the development of Line leaders and production workers to deliver the production plan.
- To review Risk assessments and SOPS, updating or creating as required.
- To conduct Line Leader meetings and reviews, attend daily production meetings and relevant training courses, as and when required.
- To communicate plans with Customers and Site Operations to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Flexibility within the role to be able to cover a variety of areas within the warehouse.

- Able to demonstrate knowledge of on-site systems.
- Able to work to tight deadlines.
- PC Literate in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Should demonstrate the drive and desire to progress.

- Ability to efficiently lead a team, delegate, supervise functions and keep staff motivated.
- Should have good oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and problem solving skills.
