Supporting our e-fulfilment operation for a well-known recognised brand. The site will handle the movement of customer-specific products, including beers, wines and spirits, within a fast-paced warehouse environment. As Warehouse Shift Supervisor you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the Shift Managers in the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all service and cost targets are met or exceeded, that all Health & Safety requirements are met and that the highest standards of housekeeping are maintained, whilst deputising for the Shift Managers in their absence.
Working hours: 4 on 4 off nights, 18:00 - 06:00
Salary: Up to £35,622 + £2,000 night premium per annum DOE
Key Duties of a Warehouse Shift Supervisor:
- Assist the Shift Manager in the day-to-day running of the operation.
- Assist the Shift Manager in coordinating any issues within the warehouse.
- Schedule and supervise the activities and functions of the warehouse staff.
- Ensure the proper and timely completion of all warehouse activities.
- Communicate plans with the Operations Controllers to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with the Company’s Health & Safety policy and procedures through safe systems of work and practices, good housekeeping and the provision of information and training to the warehouse team to ensure total safety awareness.
- Keep and maintain records of team performance against plans and advise the Shift Manager of factors that may disrupt operations which cannot be resolved by the team.
- Assist in the organisation of training and development for warehouse staff, including on-the-job coaching, and evaluate training effectiveness in terms of improved individual and team performance and the maximum flexibility of team members.
- Review with the Shift Manager and individual members opportunities for improving work methods and practices on a continuous basis.
- Offer regular feedback, formal and informal, on team and individual performance, including behavioural issues and highlighting good performance and areas for further development.
- Assist the Shift Manager in controlling levels of planned and unplanned absence and take appropriate action to ensure cover, as necessary, and manage reductions of unacceptable levels.
- Participate as an active member of the management team, and offer suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus and team working.
Qualifications:
- Previous warehouse experience within a Team Leader or Supervisory role.
- Health and safety knowledge and understanding within Warehouse Operations.
- Able to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
- Able to work to tight deadlines.
- PC Literate in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Ability to efficiently lead a team, delegate, supervise functions and keep staff motivated.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills and problem-solving skills.
