Job Opportunity at Great Bear Sheffield

Our Great Bear site in Sheffield is currently recruiting for Permanent Drivers to join their Transport Operation. The role includes deliveries for Aldi and Lidl, along with self-tipping and RDC deliveries.

Shift:

  • Monday-Friday 04:00am-07:00am starts.
  • Monday-Friday 13:00pm-18:00pm starts.

Salary: Days £14.01 per hour and Nights £15.01 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the transport office at the start of shift
  • Ensure correct and thorough completion of paperwork
  • Observe and adhere to company rules and procedures, including all health, safety, and hygiene standards
  • Maintain a high standard of behaviour and appearance
  • Manage own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
  • Adhere to tachograph rules and regulations at all times
  • Complete daily vehicle checks as per company procedures
  • Make professional deliveries to customers’ premises
  • Report any issues regarding delivery times, delays, or load discrepancies
  • Ensure proof of deliveries (PODs) are signed and returned
  • Maintain regular communication with the Transport Office
  • Follow site procedures at each delivery point
  • Complete defect reports when required
  • Perform any other duties reasonably required

Qualifications:

  • Full C+E entitlement with CPC & Tacho Card
  • Experience driving Class 1 vehicles
  • No more than 6 points; no DD/DR convictions
  • Knowledge of Driver’s hours and WTD legislation
  • Ability to perform vehicle checks and report defects
  • Compliance with health and safety requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
