Our Chorley site has an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Operations Controller to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. Salary: £27,264 per annum. Working hours: Monday-Friday, 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm rotating.

As the Warehouse Operations Controller, you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring that all schedules for inbound receipts and outbound loads are run efficiently. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their career within warehousing and logistics. It is an ideal stepping stone for someone aspiring to progress into Warehouse Supervisory or Warehouse Management positions in the future.

Responsibilities of the Warehouse Operations Controller include:

  • Efficiently managing the outbound schedule to ensure collection and delivery times are met.
  • Issuing instructions to designated staff to maintain a smooth flow of inbound and outbound work.
  • Controlling paperwork for outbound vehicles, ensuring 100% accuracy.
  • Being the initial point of contact for all drivers arriving on site.
  • Communicating issues to Shift Managers in a timely manner to minimise disruption to the schedule.
  • Participating as an active member of the operations team, and offering suggestions for solving problems, improving efficiency, customer and quality focus.
  • Maintaining good communication with transport providers to ensure late collections and delivery failures are avoided.
  • Producing a thorough, detailed handover to the following shift highlighting potential issues, reminders and current state of play.

Job requirements:

  • Proven experience within a similar fast-paced role.
  • Ability to prioritise work based on scheduling and available resources.
  • PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook with the ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
  • Must be a team player who is capable of working on your own initiative.
  • Able to demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of on-site systems.
  • Experience and good working knowledge of Autostore and RF kit.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to demonstrate a courteous and professional attitude towards customers and third party hauliers.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to solve problems.
