Role Overview
GSL are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of English to support students in a secondary school setting. This role involves delivering high‑quality English lessons and helping students develop strong literacy skills, critical thinking, and a passion for language and literature.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality English lessons and support students in developing strong literacy skills, critical thinking and a passion for language and literature.
- Work alongside experienced teachers and support staff to help students access the curriculum, build confidence, and achieve their full academic and personal potential.
- Deliver engaging English lessons across a range of topics.
- Support exam preparation and coursework development.
- Provide clear and constructive feedback while monitoring student progress.
- Encourage student progress through targeted interventions.
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in literature and language, preparing students for assessments and examinations.
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and a love of learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the department and wider school to contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Support students in enrichment and extracurricular activities such as clubs, trips, and wider school events.
