Larkrise Primary School is part of the Quantum Multi-Academy Trust and is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and reliable Breakfast Club Assistant. The position is for every morning to support the efficient running of our breakfast club. The position is for 4 hours 40 minutes per week, and working hours will be 7.30am to 8:40am Monday - Thursday.
The role will supervise and engage with children aged 4-11 in a safe and friendly manner and will ensure pupils are cared for in a positive, welcoming environment before the start of the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve simple, healthy breakfasts in line with school guidelines.
- Encourage good table manners, social interaction, and independence.
- Organise quiet play activities (e.g. games, reading, drawing).
- Ensure eating and activity areas are clean, tidy, and hygienic.
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and food hygiene procedures.
- Support children's emotional wellbeing and manage behaviour in line with school policy.
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents and carers.
- Assist with setting up before and tidying away after the session.
Experience of working with children is desirable, along with having a friendly, patient, and approachable manner. Good organisational and communication skills are required, as well as an ability to work as part of a team.
Qualifications: good numeracy and literacy skills - (GCSE or equivalent in English and maths are highly desirable).
