As we grow, we’re looking for a motivated and talented part-time Gallery Assistant to join our team and help us take things to the next level.
What You’ll Do
- Engage and Sell: Connect with clients, provide exceptional customer service, and help close sales.
- Content Creation: Write captivating artist profiles and exhibition descriptions, and manage social media to boost our online presence.
- Event Support: Help coordinate and run gallery events, artist talks, and exhibitions throughout the year.
- Stock Management: Keep the stockroom organised and ensure all artworks are properly labelled and easily accessible.
- Gallery Operations: Assist with hanging exhibitions, updating price tags, and maintaining the gallery’s overall presentation.
- Client Relationships: Manage after-sales follow-ups and gather client feedback to ensure satisfaction.
What We’re Looking For
- Art Background: Arts degree or equivalent visual literacy. A History of Art postgraduate degree is a bonus!
- Sales Skills: You know how to build relationships, close sales, and hit targets.
- Organisational Skills: You’re detail-oriented, efficient, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for client interactions and social media.
- Tech-Savvy: Experience with gallery management software (preferably Artlogic) and social media platforms.
- Team Player: You’re supportive, proactive, and enjoy working in a collaborative environment.
- Stamina: Able to handle the physical aspects of the role, including setting up exhibitions and managing stock.
