We are seeking a reliable and organised Storeman to manage the daily operations of our storeroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving and dispatching goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient storage area. This role plays a critical part in supporting smooth operations across the organisation by ensuring timely availability of stock and supplies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving and Inspecting Goods
- Accept and sign for all deliveries
- Verify quantity and quality of goods received against delivery notes/invoices
- Report and manage any damaged or incorrect items
- Stock Control & Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock levels
- Identify stock shortages or excesses and assist in reordering processes
- Conduct regular cycle counts and full stocktakes
- Record and investigate inventory discrepancies
- Utilise inventory management systems to log stock movements
- Storage and Organisation
- Store goods in an orderly and accessible manner
- Follow FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles to minimise waste
- Ensure storeroom is clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards
- Dispatching Goods
- Pick, pack, and dispatch goods accurately and efficiently
- Coordinate with internal departments or logistics for outgoing deliveries
- Ensure correct quantities and items are dispatched with proper documentation
- Record Keeping
- Keep detailed records of all incoming and outgoing stock
- Maintain paperwork for deliveries, transfers, and returns
- Update digital systems and hard-copy logs as required
- Safety and Housekeeping
- Maintain a safe working environment in line with health and safety regulations
- Report hazards or unsafe practices
- Keep the storage area clean and free from obstructions
- Assisting with Loading and Unloading
- Assist with manual handling of stock during deliveries and dispatch
- Use equipment such as trolleys, pallet jacks where required (subject to training/licensing)
- Ad Hoc Duties
- Assist with other duties such as cleaning, waste removal, or supporting other departments when needed
Key Skills and Attributes:
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage stock efficiently and maintain a tidy storeroom
