Grayson Thermal Systems is a leading supplier in the on-highway and off-highway sectors, providing thermal management and HVAC systems that help companies develop new technologies in the zero-emission space. From our Birmingham-based HQ, we design, manufacture, supply and service everything from battery thermal management systems to HVAC heat pump systems and hydrogen fuel cell cooling systems for well-known OEMs and operators worldwide.

Role Summary
The Group Marketing Manager is responsible for the continued development and execution of Grayson Thermal Systems marketing strategy across OEM and aftermarket divisions. The role drives brand positioning, digital marketing, product marketing, PR & communications, customer engagement, and lead generation/nurture activities that support the company’s growth across Europe, North America, and emerging global markets.
Working closely with Sales, Engineering, and Aftermarket teams, the position ensures that our expanding product portfolio and offering is effectively communicated to customers and aligned to the product development roadmap and market requirements.
Key areas of responsibility
- Strategic Marketing Leadership
- Develop and lead the marketing strategy aligned to revenue targets and new product developments / launches.
- Create and deliver annual marketing plans that support new product launches, market penetration, and lead generation to support the sales department.
- Provide clear leadership with the Sales & Marketing team and external agency partners.
- Brand, Positioning & Communications
- Strengthen the Grayson brand identity across target markets and regions.
- Oversee development of technical literature, brochures, product decks, case studies, and customer-facing materials.
- Engage with external partners for press releases, advertising, and media coverage on Grayson.
- Manage internal communications to support company growth, culture development, and product awareness.
- Digital Marketing & CRM
- Drive digital marketing performance across SEO, paid search, paid social, email automation, and website management.
- Lead continued CRM (HubSpot) development and marketing automation, including customer journeys, newsletters, insights, and manage the framework for sales team lead management to pipeline delivery/deal closure.
- Analyse digital performance, producing quarterly KPI reports, monitor CRM dashboards on leads, engagement, and conversion.
- Product & Technical Marketing
- Take the innovative Grayson product range and NPD outputs and develop into value propositions for target markets and customers.
- Support and maintain product range management/groups/naming functions with the Head of Sales & Marketing.
- Ensure product launches are supported with well-thought-out campaigns, content, and sales presentations.
- Monitor competitor product range development and how this compares to the Grayson product range.
- Events, Exhibitions & PR
- Plan, manage, and attend trade shows, exhibitions, corporate events, and conferences.
- Coordinate logistics, budgets, stand design, and post-event follow-up activities.
- Manage relationships with PR agencies, media partners, trade associations, and external marketing suppliers.
- Lead Generation & Sales Enablement
- Deliver structured outbound and inbound campaigns targeting specific customers and markets.
- Create and deliver ABM campaigns working with the Head of Sales & Marketing to define strategy and targets.
- Monitor AI opportunities within the lead generation process and introduce/execute these to Grayson sales processes/customer journey.
- Provide sales teams with presentations, competitor insights, product sheets, and customer-specific messaging.
- Support evaluation of new sales opportunities through market research and campaign activity.
- Budget & Department Management
- Manage the annual marketing budget effectively, ensuring strong ROI and quarterly reporting.
- Oversee supplier contracts and agency retainers.
- Management of direct reports within the department.
- Ensure all activities support continuous improvement and deliver commercial value.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all Grayson policies and safe-working procedures.
- Maintain awareness of H&S requirements when attending events, exhibitions, and supplier premises.
- Actively promote H&S awareness.
Quality
- Follow the Grayson Business Management Systems (BMS) to maintain compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001, and ISO27001 accreditation.
- Attention to detail on the presentation of all documents and work produced (internal and external).
- Deliver high-quality, accurate marketing outputs that build our brand reputation.
- Ensure external customer-facing and internal collateral is consistent, correct, and up-to-date.
Training
- Participate in relevant training for leadership, digital marketing, AI, CRM systems, and product knowledge.
- Support training of Sales teams on new product messaging, CRM updates, digital tools, and corporate brand guidelines.
Key Skills and Experience
Essential
- Strong B2B marketing experience within technology, engineering, or industrial products.
- Proven experience leading digital marketing, ABM programmes, CRM systems, and campaign execution.
- Ability to co-ordinate and develop product range management.
- Experience of delivering events and exhibitions.
- Excellent copywriting skills, capable of simplifying technical products.
- Experience with a CMS (preferably WordPress).
- Understanding of key digital marketing management tools, including Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
- Strong leadership and line management capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and familiar with Adobe Creative tools.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to optimise performance.
Desirable
- Marketing-related degree or CIM qualification.
- Experience with HubSpot CRM.
- Experience with paid LinkedIn and Google Ads.
- Experience representing a business in media or public forums.
