The Senior Project Manager is a crucial role within the Advertising Business Unit (part of EU Communication). The main responsibility is to ensure that projects are delivered to our clients on time and within budget, working closely with the Creative Team, Creative Resource, and Client Service teams.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements
- Client Focus
- Partner closely with Client Service for project intake and brief approval.
- Communicate daily with the client regarding project plans and progress.
- Reach out proactively to account teams to gain visibility into upcoming work and support organic growth.
- Pivot project plans as needed in line with client changes or new requirements.
- Act as a trusted partner to the client‐service counterpart, providing confidence and control across projects.
- Project Management
- Manage complex projects or larger workstreams, driving the team through each step.
- Facilitate collaboration with cross‐functional team members with minimal supervision.
- Understand the necessary steps of any project type (digital, print, video, event, etc.) and manage it from brief to final delivery.
- Create timelines and ensure all milestones are met, flagging and resolving potential delays.
- Co‐ordinate creatives (copy, design, production, amends), client services, and creative resource management to achieve project delivery.
- Manage project lifecycle from kick‐off to final delivery, including creative concepting, production delivery, and internal reviews.
- Maintain and update project plans, flagging warning areas and communicating changes to account teams.
- Hold post‐delivery meetings to agree on learnings and drive quality and efficiency.
- Route projects through the WRIKE platform.
- Provide line‐management support to junior team members and develop their line‐management experience.
- Financial Management
- Ensure project recoverability alongside the account counterpart.
- Develop budgets, liaise with Client Service and Creatives for approvals, and forecast projects in the financial system.
- Track and report financial status against budget, including burn rate, and work with Client Service to assess risk and mitigation.
- Collaborate with finance to ensure forecasting accuracy.
- Ensure all timesheets are completed accurately and on time for accurate reporting.
- Resourcing Support
- Collaborate with Creative Resource to secure adequate resources, aligning hours with budget and timelines.
- Provide clear hours and dates for all projects to Creative Resource.
- Develop solutions for resource clashes or challenges and support mitigations.
Qualifications / Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in advertising project/account management.
- Strong networking skills and ability to build contacts with external vendors and internal resources.
- Maintains professional relationships with account teams.
- Excellent understanding of capacity planning, utilization figures and working within budgets.
- Knowledge of Project Management best practices and ability to manage diverse project types.
- Demonstrable knowledge of requirements and operational implications on projects and client needs.
- Production understanding (video, print, digital); this view is a plus.
- Healthcare experience is a plus.
- Proactive, ambitious, continually improving systems and delivering positive change.
- Excellent time and self‐management skills, managing multiple projects.
- Strong verbal and written communication, delivering clear direction to designers and studio teams.
