Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and professional Class 1 Driver to join our transport team in Heysham. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in delivering excellent service, works safely and efficiently, and wants to be part of a business that values and invests in its people.

The Role

As a Class 1 Driver, you'll play a key role in delivering and collecting goods safely, securely, and on time across the UK. You'll represent Graylaw International with customers and work closely with the transport team to maintain high service standards and support the wider operation.

Key Responsibilities

Drive Class 1 (Category C+E) vehicles safely and responsibly in accordance with all road transport legislation.

Complete scheduled deliveries and collections accurately and within agreed timescales.

Conduct daily vehicle and trailer inspections and report defects promptly.

Ensure loads are secured correctly and transported safely.

Complete delivery notes, vehicle records, defect reports, and other transport documentation accurately.

Use tachograph equipment correctly and comply with drivers' hours and working time regulations.

Maintain regular communication with the transport office regarding progress, delays, and delivery updates.

Always provide a professional and courteous service to customers.

Keep vehicles and trailers clean, presentable, and roadworthy.

Comply with all Health & Safety procedures, transport policies, and company standards.

What We're Looking ForEssential

Valid Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence.

Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).

Valid digital tachograph driver card.

Previous Class 1 driving experience within a transport or logistics environment.

Good understanding of drivers' hours legislation and tachograph regulations.

Strong awareness of road safety and legal compliance requirements.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Reliable, professional, and able to work independently.

Positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Desirable

Experience with curtainsiders, box or refrigerated operations.

Experience delivering to RDCs and commercial customers.

ADR qualification.

Forklift Truck licence.
