Heat Trace is a manufacturing and engineering company with our headquarters and main manufacturing unit in Helsby Cheshire, we also have two manufacturing facilities at Bredbury, Stockport. The prime activity of the business is the manufacture of highly technical heating cables for use predominantly in the oil and gas and advanced processing industries.
Main Purpose of Post:
To support the evaluation, testing and certification of products to achieve and maintain ATEX / IECEx and ISO 9001 certifications. To support the continuous improvement, update, and maintenance of the management systems and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Running new product certification projects and updating existing product certification;
- Support the update and maintain trade agent agreements and certifications;
- Attend and participate in Quality and Certification meeting with customers and notified bodies;
- Ensuring internal ATEX and ISO 9001 vertical audits are conducted according to the audit plan;
- Overseeing internal audits, ensuring that they are performed in a timely manner, logging progress and reporting on any non-conformities, or opportunity for improvements;
- Perform training for new associates on ATEX and ISO 9001 providing good basic knowledge. For new auditors on vertical product audits, as required;
- Ensure new certificates, associated drawings and test reports are issued and filed accordingly;
- Maintenance of approvals, certificates, drawings and standards registers;
- Preparation of technical reports/files and certificates;
- Coordinating with the Product Manager to provide and maintain a list of approved products for reference by the wider company;
- Dealing with customer queries regarding certifications and approvals;
- Maintain and coordinate a budget with finance team with certification costs;
- Work closely with Project Manager for the timeline and delivery of certification and testing projects;
- Ensure new certificates are filed accordingly and advise relevant individuals/teams of any changes;
- Liaising with Marketing and Product Manager to update website and documentation with new certificates;
- Coordinate with Product Engineers and Technical to ensure drawings meet required standards;
What will you bring to the role?
- Demonstrable experience/understanding of ATEX/IECEx standards/certification;
- Experience working in an Engineering/Manufacturing environment;
- Understanding of product standards/approvals process;
- Experience/understanding of Management Systems – including ISO 9001 and 14001;
- Willingness to conduct audits outside the UK;
- Excellent attention to detail;
- Strong organisational and time management skills;
- Experience with EN/IEC standards, e.g. EN 62395, 80079-34;
- Understanding of CAD and technical drawings processes and standards;
- Experience with certification and technical product testing;
- Engineering qualification or similar (HNC and above);
