Gray Healthcare are recruiting a Female Support Worker, within the Wrexham area of Wales, to support a female who has a diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD). The person we support lives independently in their own home receiving 1-2-1 support 24 hours a day. The person is supported by a female only team on shifts of days and nights. The female we support enjoys baking, arts & crafts and likes to keep active such as going on walks.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Social care experience, ideally within Mental Health and with some experience of supporting individuals with Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD) and Self-injurious behaviours.
  • Experience supporting individuals with behaviours perceived as challenging.
  • Experience implementing detailed care plans and risk assessments.
  • Experience adapting communication skills, verbal and non-verbal, to aid understanding of the supported individual.
  • Motivated to promote engagement in meaningful activity.
  • A desire to support the individual in their cultural and spiritual needs.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.

You must have current Right to Work in the UK and have been employed in the UK for at least 6 months. We no longer have any certificates of sponsorship available and are unable to consider sponsorship. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.

Working Hours:

36 hour contract, 3 x 12 hour waking nights shifts from 8pm to 8am.

Induction and Training:

We provide an initial week of training which is a combination of online training (Company induction, systems, and Medication), followed by in-person training on PROACT-SCIPr-UK which is a PBS approach to least restrictive practice. You will then complete the person-centred training, specific to the person that you are supporting. Training continues throughout your time with Gray Healthcare, and we encourage you to develop and grow your career with us.
